So regardless if the person was from the FBI or not, would anyone
complain of someone did make it easy to set up Xgrid to run JTR?
Keeping script kiddies ignorant isn't real security. If it was a
"real" cracker, they wouldn't need our help anyway because they would
be able to figure it out anyway, right?
My point is having JTR Xgridded will benefit decent admin people and
will be good in the long run. So why not post instructions how to do
it. Besides, hopefully people will learn how to use Xgrid well enough
so that they could grid JTR without needing instructions...
Do the Apple people on this list have a policy about this?
My policy is: what you do with your Macintosh is your business.
I haven't spoken with Apple Legal about whether that's the Company
policy, but I'd be "stunned" if Apple could be held legally liable for
developing technology that has a few potential criminal applications
among its many, many legitimate ones.
If somebody wants to detail here how to use Xgrid to boost JTR, then I
for one would actually be interested in seeing it. I can't see how it
is off-topic. (Again, I apologize for derailing the thread earlier.
My stupid mistake.)
