servermgrd running on the mdc pushes out 3 main files to the other
servrmgrd running on the other clients and MDC's
# fsmlist
# fsnameservers
# role.plist
These files are stored on the mdc's and clients at /Library/
Filesystems/Xsan/config/
Note # The clients don't get pushed the fsmlist file
The file that stores the serial number is the role.plist. It also
stores the role of the machine (client or controller) and network
information for metadata network etc..
The log files of interest to you will be stored in 2 locations
/var/log/system.log (the fsmpm daemon rights to here)
/Library/Filesystems/Xsan/data/<volume>/log/cvlog (the fsm daemon
rights to here)
A good place to start troubleshooting this issues is to look at the
role.plist file
Note servermgrd also uses another 2 prcoesses called
servermgrd_nomadfss and servermgrd_nomadvolume to process commands
Check the client to make sure servermgrd is running on the client
look at the startup item flag in /etc/hostconfig called
SERVERMANAGERSERVER.
This has to be running for the client to accept these files
You may also want to check that the client is running fsmpm.
Hope this helps

Hello all.
Just another question!!
I have restarted our San over the weekend....and surprise
surprise....one of the clients refuses to be 'validated' by the
system.
In xsan Admin, i can 'see' the client....and enter a serial
number....but when i hit save, i get the duplicate registration error.
Here is what the log says....
