Re: Atto HBA

Yes that should work fine, We've setup atto 4 port 4gig cards in the same way, 2 ports to XSAN (or StorNext) and 2 Ports to direct attached storage or even to an S.two Digital Field recording system, and it all works beautifully, weather using the Huge Media Vault as direct attached or if your XSAN is going to include a Huge Media Vault you should be ok. The only thing with the Huge if your going to make it part of XSAN make sure if you have in in RAID 3 mode that it on the 512 stripe mode.

Hope this helps.

Hi folks,

Little issue.  I have a Apple Quad G5 with all PCIe slots (4) filled up.

2 are in use with a necessary video card
1 is in use with the AJA Kona 3
1 is in use with the Apple Fibre HBA

The problem is we just bought a Huge System storage unit for direct attach and it is also fibre, dual channel (Huge 4210).  We also bought an ATTO Dual 4gig Fibre Channel card to go with it.  Problem is, there is no room for it in the computer.  So, ATTO makes a 4 channel card that could attach to the Huge Storage and to the Apple XSAN storage.  Does this raise in red flags, functionally?  Would it work?  Does it reduce bandwidth?

Any thoughts, ideas?

Thanks,
Mark
