Re: Xsan 1.4

I see Xsan 1.4 in Software Update now, and apparently there are links somewhere, as well.

This is good. (If I felt adventurous and wanted to try it!)

But one question remains.... For a new Mac Pro, does it have to buy a totally new boxed copy of 1.4, or can it somehow use the older licenses we have already and an update?

Hmmm...

:)

Another interesting thing to note is that the system requirements
have changed.   Version 1.4 has apparently dropped support for G4
systems, in favor of "Macintosh computers with an Intel or PowerPC G5
processor".   Fortunately this does not affect our setup, but I know
that I have read a number of messages on this list referencing G4
client systems.  The Universal support is nice to see, though.

According to this page :

we read this :

Hardware Requirements
        - Xserve or Xserve G5
        - Power Mac G5 (any)
        - Macintosh computer with an Intel Processor
        - Power Mac G4 (dual 800 MHz or faster)

Although, the product is not yet available so we can't be sure this will
not change...
