i recently upgraded to XSAN 1.4 and so far so good. i had a few
issues with the server and SAN set up that are resolved now. the
main one of which was i can now restart the server without have to
physically power it off. i was also able to resolve an unrelated
kerberos problem with samba. so all in all i have had a pretty
stable SAN for about a week.
i just have one remaining issue left to resolve. when i restart the
server bru thinks that there is new hardware added and needs a
rescan. no new hardware was installed or moved between any of the
restarts. i also cannot log in and need to reset the password using
the config app to be able to connect with the console app. so my
current work around is after a restart i reset the password and
then login to the console app and do a scan. if that fails i use
sudo ./server --scan. then all should be ok
What type of backup unit do you have? SCSI, fibre? What version of
BRU Server and Console are you running?
The latest versions are available here in you need them: http://
www.bru.com/demos/BRUServer.html
does anyone have a similar problem and perhaps a better work around?
