It's fairly hard to do, since it makes a lot of assumptions about running inside an application, rather than inside a plugin.

In particular, since it uses NSURLConnection, it won't work inside a modal runloop on Tiger. I believe that NSURLConnection was fixed in Leopard to work in modal runloops, but I believe there are still too many assumptions in Sparkle to be a drop-in to an Aperture plugin.
