Well, the signing operation is happening in the smart card, of course. But tokend is in control as the mediator to the card.


For you, the main constraint may be that Tiger only supports physical smart cards through tokend, since insertion is triggered by a physical USB device insertion event. Tiger does not support "virtual" smart cards.
