Re: Pasting text in text field

Eh Mark, you think you're at a lost... imagine me!

I've just created a new file in IB and dropped a text field on a new window... ctrl-r to test it and boum, no problem pasting text in that one! Now going back to my own application, adding a new text field with no AS or fancy stuff to it... nothing, can't paste text in any of them whatsoever, first responder or not.

I dread to think that to remedy the situation I might have to recreate the window from scratch, having to redo all the AS names and connection, but it seems to be my only option.

Sorry--I'm completely at a loss here. Can you copy text that's in the problem text fields? Something must be blocking the pasting. If you set first responder to one of the text fields, can you get paste to work then? Is there something fancy attached to the text fields that won't accept the type of text you have on the clipboard?

If it makes any difference, I've already got 4 more text field on the panel (attached to window), and still no luck with any of them.
And yes I do have text to paste from the clipboard.

Oh, joy. Can you add another text field and see if the same thing happens. You are sure you have something to paste, right? You can paste to Text Edit, or something, but not this text field?

I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

Yes it is, that's what throws me. I can type text and delete it but no paste.

In IB, select the text field and look in the Attributes pane of the Info palette. Do you have the 'Editable' option checked?

Why can't I paste text in a 'text field' in my Studio application?
Is there some trick to this?
