Re: Table and Applescript Studio

Johan

I'd first get the table working, and populate it with a simple list of strings {{"A", "1"}, {"B", "2"}}. Table Sort and Task List are probably the best examples to copy from. If you are populating the table all at once, the 'append' will be better than doing it row by row (See the Terminology Reference pdf). There is a book "Teach YourSelf AppleScript in 24 Hours" by Jesse Feiler (Sams Books, $25).Part II of the book is 120 pages on "Working With AppleScript Studio." It includes details of setting up a table.

Getting the contents of the folder & other data & sorting that should be easy enough. The Outline example grabs the whole contents of the hard disk, which you could use to start.

Hi,

I'm new to this list and Applescript Studio, I have created Applescript in
the past with success (by reading manuals, stealing from others scripts as
everyone tells todo)

now I started a project where Applescript Studio would be great, I started
to read the doc and checked the different Examples but I get stuck.

Anyone have tips where I can find some literature or online help ?

To begin with I would like to make a application containing one Table and a
Button.

When clicking the button I would like to fill the table with the names of
files in a specific folder. The files contains names so I would like the
Table to contain 2 columns one with filename and one with the number of
names in the file.

Any help, direction where to find more info would be appreciated.
