Why Cocoa was named Cocoa

Hello,
maybe my question is out of topic but on the other hand I read the
often Cocoa in this list, so you may excuse me.
Has Apple chosen the name because it should be a hot drink and Java was
already in use or is cocoa the preferred drink of the Apple developers?
May somebody can give me a more reasonable answer?
I really need it, because Im just starting to teach Cocoa/Objective C
in a German Macintosh magazine.
