problems with "on opened" handler

Hi!

The stuff is the following. The user hits a button in the main window, then
a panel is opened/attached to main window.

This panel has attached the following handler:

#############
on opened theObject
--> whatever
close panel theObject
end opened
#############

After running this handler, I can't attach no more windows to the main
window. I simply hear a beep when attempt to do it.

Do you know what's going on?
