It's just my 'on idle' handler doing the freaky stuff. (The same thing
happens using the Script Debugger component.) It interrupts me as I'm
stepping through a different handler - it's the idle handler that's messing
things up.

In other mini-scripts, including the Studio examples I've tried so far,
debugging seems to be working OK. Try the example scripts. When I've tested
a little more thoroughly I'll report back again.
