Timing of an event

Hello again.

I've got a little problem here: I'd like to create an application, that runs a function every n minutes, but I can't find any way inside AppleScript to do so, without blocking the whole application (buttons shall still be pressable during the "wait"). Does one of you know of a way to do this?
