It probably depends on one's definition of "CMS."

I've built a CMS using ASStudio and MySQL, using MacSQL Lite 2.6.3 from
Runtime Labs <http://www.rtlabs.com/> to connect to the database. It works
well but support from RTLabs runs from spotty to nonexistent.

MacSQL Framework also works, but it's pricey and doesn't support all the
features I need, so I've stuck with MacSQL Lite.

For my particular case, the *content* is a batch of magazine stories in
Quark print layouts, and the *management system* is a Mac app that puts the
stories on the web site. The CMS grabs specific fields (headline, subhead,
byline, body text) based on style name, converts the story to tagged HTML
based on its Quark styles, and inserts the story into a MySQL table. It
also grabs photos, captions, and pull quotes and inserts those into tables.
Photos are converted from CMYK to RGB and resized using Image Events, then
uploaded using Interarchy.

The interface: <http://cleverdev.net/WebZineXpress.jpg>

Workflow wise, it's much faster than using Quark's HTML export, followed by
copying and pasting bits of text from the exported HTML into a web-based
form for insertion into the DB. With this app, the operator clicks a text
box in Quark, then clicks Get Story (or Get Photo, Get Caption, Get Quote,
etc.) and the app does all the magic.
