Re: Xcode 3.x and Applescript Studio

Dear Friends,
I've been out of the Applescript Studio Loop for a while now, and it seems that something changed dramatically.
I'm trying to set up a AS project in XCode 3.1 beta. First thing that I notice, is that no .nib file is created when I open an Applescript Application template. How do I create one, and what is the difference between a .nib and a .xib?
Also: are there things I should know about the new Interface Builder?

Because of XCode 3.1 NDA, it is known as the "unmentionable" version and can't be discussed on Apple mailing lists.

However since xibs were introduced in 3.0, I can say that they are XML representations of nibs. And when your project is compiled, they will be turned into nib 3.0 format in your release. You can optionally use older nib formats (look in IB).

For the IB available in Xcode 3.0, I can say that some options are missing from the previous version I was using (from Xcode 2.5) and I had to restart on my 10.4 system to set them from IB. Also, I had a lot of crashes when I tried to customize a table background (seems to be a problem when some of the other configuration options are set but I haven't nailed down exactly what they are).
