I assume that this is why several Smile's features are available only
when the system is using the period as decimal separator.
This is almost perfectly correct, and the lack of programmatic control
on the decimal separator is a pity - Chris is aware of the point.
Almost, because we did work much on that before releasing the latest
version of Smile (3.1.7, Universal binary), and it's no longer a
problem of Smile. That means, the AppleScript problems remain - we can
nothing about that - but there is no longer any Smile-specific problem
having the comma as the dec.sep.
