Hiding Application after running script

Hi all,

What is the best way to hide an application at the end of running a script? For example, I have built a script that will launch iTunes, select and start playing a specific playlist but I then want to add a line that will hide iTunes. Much of the information I have seen regarding hiding applications seems to have a fair amount of unneccessary work in them; i.e. going to the finder, etc.

Any suggestions for a newbie?

Thanks,

Ed
