Well, the problem is I said hm, lemme look at this months ago. And now it's expired. Now we have a better tool in the form of Shirley's book to help understand InDesign.

I have no desire to violate the license or use it for production work or whatever. I don't know exactly what the answer would be to this situation - a legitimate need to try a product,  Adobe's need to ensure that it is not "tried" for production use forever.

And thus the 30 day limit... really, that's about all they can do for you (I'd much rather time-limited demos than crippled demos). Demos aren't meant for doing development against (if Adobe was in a different kind of market, with much steeper pricing, they'd probably have cheap or even free developer's licenses, but that wouldn't work very well for them - everyone would just buy the dev license if they could, and pretend what they're doing is not production).

I think if you're going to be making real money on it, the licenses are reasonable - find a sugar daddy client to buy it for you, or form a group, share the costs of a license, and then pass it between members of the group (much as a company might do with a license). Just don't violate the terms and you're cool. I've often thought of doing this as part of a developer's collective... sort of a software library for members/owners. As long as you're not allowing multiple simultaneous copies/users, it should be kosher with most licenses. IANAL, of course!
