To get an 8 bit colour value (2^8) from a 16 bit one (2^16) you
need to divide it by 2^8:
58853 div (2 ^ 8)
--> 229
PS: You can't do this with Photoshop colour values because it uses
(2^15)+1 rather than real 16 bit values.
actually I beg to differ. it equals 229.89453125
Does that mean that iCal is not using 16 bit colors?
