I think you're using Entourage too, aren't you? I received the links back from the server here (in Mail) - and they also seem to have made it through to the archived message:

Normally, I prefer to stick to plain text. In fact, that's precisely why my first attempt failed. The links appeared in my plain text draft - but vanished as soon as I sent the message. (This seems a bit buggy to me. I'd prefer to see the 'Hyperlink' command greyed out for a plain text message, like some of the 'Format/Style' commands - or at least get some kind of warning...) :-)

Sorry you didn't get the links. It'll be interesting to see how other email clients fare in this...
