Hey Bruce,

Have you checked out rsyncx.. I dont really know if its better but I have had no problems and use it now exclusively instead of Carbon copy cloner. Rsyncx maintains resource forks etc that are mac specific.

You can find it at macosxlabs.org. Its free and there are some good videos there about it.

Michael Tsai, the developer of SpamSieve, and others, have found
rsync to be unreliable.  From the scuttlebutt I've heard, I'd avoid
it like the plague.  Also, avoid Apple's .Mac Backup app, apparently
it can wipe disks/data during a restore...
