10.3.9 eFax question...

Hi List,

I have this Mac that is running Os 10.3.9, and as you all might know when receiving a fax, I can't see anything on the GUI.

The "show fax status on menu" is only available on 10.4.

I wonder if any of you could give me a hint on how to detect if the Mac is receiving a fax. May be an unix command?

I tried "ps -aux|grep efax", but it doesn't work out, the Mac hax "fax answer turned on" in /etc/ttys, so it starts a new process every time a new fax has been received.

"ls -ls /dev/cu.modem" also doesn't work, "root" user owns it all the time, either the modem is in use, or not.

How do I detect if the modem is being used by efax?

My idea is to have a "stay open" app that will check and display something on the GUI.

Any help will be appreciated.
