It's a normal "tell" statement -- do shell script has nothing to do with this.

The whole purpose of this string was to see if a "do shell" was available to do this.

do shell script "open -a Play\\ Sound " & quoted form of POSIX path of alias "Donna:Users:bstuder:Library:Sounds:Bloated sack of protoplasm.mp3"

But why?
