Installing software over a network

We are currently in the process of upgrading all our software. In previous
iterations I just installed the necessary software on a machine by machine
basis.

Our company has grown in size and now rather than 5 machines there are 15.
Is there an easy way to install the necessary software on all these machines
rather than one by one?

One idea I have is to install all the required bits and pieces on one
machine. Use the machine for a week or so to ensure that everything runs
well and there are no incompatibilities etc etc.

Once I am satisfied that this is a 'standard' build, create an image using
DiskCopy and then just copy this image onto all the other machines.

Is this a good idea? Is there a better way?

Regards

Gerard Corboz
