Re: How to stop Open Mail Relay in ASIP

Would it be possible to avoid relay problems by running TWO SMTP servers -
one for incoming mail, and one for outgoing? One could have totally
different settings on them - the Incoming one doesn't allow relay for ANYONE
(including Postmaster) - this one should probably be the standard ASIP mail
server. Then the outgoing one could be configured to only allow connections
from the LAN - say, if it's sendmail on a linux box, you could just use
ipchains to block all hosts not on the LAN. Of course, maybe you need to
send mail from off site...but maybe you could set up ipchains rules flexible
enough to allow mail from all your locations.

Would this work?
