Re: Retrospect

Hi Matt-yes it was covered but the short answer is leave retro running
always-You will only crash when you relaunch it. It is a datnz/Apple problem
that will not be addressed as they are in the push on OSX only.

Do this and you will have no issues.

best regards

I have a new G4 Server/800 MHz single processor/1 GB RAM running Mac OS
9.2.2 and ASIP 6.3.3. I have an Ecrix VXA firewire tape drive and Retrospect
5 as the backup engine. Most every time that Retrospect fires up to do its
business, the server crashes. After visiting with the folks at Dantz, they
say it is an Apple problem. I visited the Apple web site and found that they
talk about this problem and suggest the use the "Apple Memory Manager."
However, the documentation talks about Mac OS 7.5.x....I have run Retrospect
on other ASIP 6.3 servers and have no problems. Any suggestions?

I hope that made sense.
