ASIP 6 and client PC problem

We have recently added a Hewlitt-Packard PC to our formerly all Mac network and are experiencing a problem w/ the PC. The PC can create and delete folders and files on the server but cannot rename a folder on the server. We're running ASIP 6.2, Mac OS 9.1. The PC is running Windows XP. Other than this irritating problem the PC seems to be otherwise happy w/ ASIP. Anybody have a workaround for this problem? Any help appreciated.
