This is bunk. 9.2.2 provides many more updates than simple OS X Classic
compatibility...I know, I tore OS 9.2 apart making it work with "legacy"
Macs (something Apple said COULDN'T be done). We found that Apple had been
updating code portions FOR the legacy macs...the pieces were in the earlier
betas, but "suddenly" disappeared later, so they were definitely working on
more than just OS X compatibility.

Most importantly for ASIP admins, besides the basic fact that 9.2.x is MUCH
more stable than 9.1, 9.2 offers OpenTransport fixes. In fact, unlike the
Apple party line, the updated "Classic" components provide FURTHER OS 9.2.2
OpenTransport improvements, included a fix for a known DNS resolver bug that
DOES affect ASIP Mail. I recommend that all 9.2.x users be sure to swipe the
OT extensions out of a Classic-updated System Folder, even if they aren't
running OS X. As for ASIP 6.3.3 being "made for 9.1" well, that isn't
entirely accurate either. In fact, 6.3.3 was "made" before 9.1 was finished
development. That was the cause of the installer bug that causes ASIP
6.3.3v1 to puke on its shoes when installing on 9.2. I spent the time to
investigate ASIP 6.3.3v1 versus v1.2 and v1.3 and quite simply there is
NOTHING different between them in terms of WHAT gets installed. OS 9.1 and
9.2.x are treated the same.

Just because Apple says something, doesn't make it true.
