Anybody out there know about Appletalk and how and where it gets it's address, node and router numbers? We are having major problems with them disappearing all of a sudden. We run a network of about 100 macs at our school and about another 50 at the school next to us. We have been networked for years with no AppleTalk problems. Our macs range from 6100's to eMacs and G4's. We are running a lab of 60+ iMacs and eMacs. About a week ago, we started having problems with a few in classrooms. Then it quit for couple of days then this week we have been deluged with Appletalk losing the node and address on the majority of computers.

We are at a loss of knowing why this is happening, what is causing it. Sometimes, if we unplug the ethernet, open Appletalk, close then plug ethernet back in, it fixes it, but not always.

We have AppleShare servers and an Xserver on our network.

Any help out there would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
