Mike,

Vicom may have been set to do (cached) dns serving (name serving). Then its
addres would have been on top of the name server list. You should remove
that line.
If every program is waiting then the are resolving the name to an ip
address. So it is a dns problem.
What is set in the tcp/ip panel? The name server addres must either be
empty, than is it going to the router or it must be set to the isp dns. You
may not leave the vicom address as router address first, because he will try
that first until a time out makes him trying the second line and so on.
