Quiet just means reliable, predictable, well understood I guess lol. Perhaps
the real desired nature of a good server?
A word of server statistics here in my area. We support all OSs and have near
200 servers online with a number of ASIP boxes. I think maybe 45? The ASIPs
seldom need attention and average about 1-1.5 TB with maybe an average of 100
users. All have GB Enet cards and maxed ram by the way. An occasional bad file
might be an issue but seldom more. Not bad in our eyes. On our Win servers, we
always have plenty to do and endless updates. We had maybe 3 OSX servers but
found them sluggish and they are offline till next major release.
