SCSI_HBA_Emulator example in read-write mode

I am trying to load the SCSI_HBA_Emulator example code from DTS on
10.5. The disk is put in read-only mode when the kext is loaded. What
changes need to be made to the code to make the RAM disk writable? (I
believe that under 10.4 the example, the disk was writable by
default.)

Here's a transcript of the diskutil info command:

diskutil info /dev/disk3
