Looking for an easy way to keep track of user group discount offers?
UGAB Vendor Coordinator Tom Piper has created a password-protected web
page of all current offers for user group members. Give the password
to your group's members in a non-public form (mailing list, print
newsletter, password-protected web page and/or members-only bulletin
board) and the codes will be ready when your members are.

Nicholas Pyers is known for his clever puzzles, but did you know he's
an author too? His current article on publishing user group calendars
via iCal can help any group share news of their meetings and events
with a minimum of effort.

One thing is for certain: attendees at Macworld San Francisco '06
won't be bored. Trish Huffman, AUG-D List Mom, Apple User Group
Advisory Board member and speakers coordinator presents an all-star
line up for User Group University and a wonderful variety of speakers
throughout the week in the User Group Lounge. Rick Ortiz, Apple User
Group Advisory Board member and booth coordinator has staffed the
booth with some great groups. Guides, parties and a week of fun: who
could ask for more?

This is an exciting time for a number of members of our community.
David Feng, president of Beijing International MUG and Apple User
Group Regional Liaison, was recently interviewed for television and
print media. Autoplus magazine and Beijing Today both wanted to know
what was on his mind.
Well known puzzlemaster and Apple Users' Group of Melbourne (AUSOM)
ambassador Nicholas Pyers will be writing a regular column for
Australian Macworld, starting with a February issue that includes
events in the user group community down under.
4] - Logo Design Contest: Students and Members Compete in New Jersey
.......................
The Macs for Students group has been offering a logo design contest
for high school and college students in South Jersey as well as South
Jersey Apple Users Group (SJAUG) members. With a grand prize of a
silver iPod mini (4GB) and the honor of having their logo used and
published in print and on the web, the second prize winner will
receive a 1GB iPod Shuffle.
The Macs for Students group is a community service project which meets
monthly to refurbish donated Macs. These working systems are
distributed to students who apply and are accepted from Burlington
County, New Jersey and the surrounding area.
The winner will be announced at the December 16 Holiday Party
meeting of SJAUG.

5] - User Group Milestones: MacAttorney Passes 5,000 Members

With two issues to go before they publish their fiftieth newsletter,
MacAttorney reports that they have already exceeded 5,400 members.
Formed as a place for attorneys, law students, legal professionals and
the IS staffs of legal firms, this group provides a much appreciated
service to the legal community. Congrats to attorney, author,
moderator and well known speaker Randy Singer and members of
MacAttorney.
6] - Photography Workshop: Allegheny Region Macintosh User Group

The Allegheny Region Macintosh User Group (ARMUG) hosted a
demonstration of digital photography, computer processing of photos
and printing at the Chautauqua Arts Council in Jamestown, New York.
Participants included Photographers Bob Knobloch and Roger Roselli.
