AUGD: SanDisk Cruzer 2GB with U3 Smart USB Flash

My SanDisk Cruzer with U3 Smart USB Flash drive was reformatted as a Macintosh Extended (not journaled) format drive.

It seems that an eighth of the drive space is not usable by me. In Apple's Disk Utility it appears as 1.74 GB Mac drive.

Since its supposed to be 2 GB, I'd like to recover as much space as possible to use with my Macintosh. How can I free up or delete the U3 partition and change the wrapper to Mac, rather than have a Mac disk inside an MS-DOS drive?
