In the patched source, there are two directories of interest to a
Windows Mobile/CE developer. In mDNSWindows/DNSServiceBrowser/
WindowsCE, you'll find an example service-browsing application.
Although it's included with the official sources, it had fallen out
of date with the rest of the code, so my patch updates it to work
again. You'll need eMbedded Visual C++ to build it.
Probably of greater interest is mDNSWindows/CE/Embedded, which
contains a VS 2005 project file for an embedded mDNS stack for
Windows CE. There's a README in the directory that explains how to
use it. I've successfully used it to develop a couple Bonjour-
enabled CE apps, but your mileage may vary.
At some point, I'd still like to create a proper Bonjour system
service for CE, but I'm not sure when I'll have the time. In case
anyone else wants to give it a shot, there's an article at MSDN on
creating CE services:
I noticed in the archives that there are folks who have succeeded
in running mDSNResponder on a Windows Mobile device and who would
be willing to share the binaries/source. Can someone post the
binaries or source? Or, tell me where to find them?
Thanks!
Chris
