Re: forcing text smoothing for static text controls

I have some static text controls that look bad when the "Turn off text smoothing for font sizes X and smaller." setting in the Appearance (on Panther) or General (on Jaguar) panel of System Preferences is set too high. Is there a way to force text smoothing to be used for these controls, regardless of the setting in System Preferences?

My advice would be that you shouldn't override the user's settings that way. Even if they look bad to you with the antialiasing off, they may not look bad to someone who has a vision problem.
