double mouse wheel events

I am getting odd behavior with the kEventMouseWheelMoved event. I have installed a listener for it on a window's event target, and I get every wheel event delivered twice, in immediate succession. Same value, a double event. I definitely don't have 2 event listeners installed. I am listening to other mouse events with that listener, and the others are all received only once.

Is this "expected behavior" of some sort? Or is this possibly a bug in the OS (I'm using 10.3.7)? Or possibly a bug with my mouse (Logitech M-BA47 USB mouse)? Has anyone else experienced this and have any insight?

The biggest problem is with controls that have discrete value steps, they are all jumping by 2 when I try to use the mouse wheel. So I can only go to even-number values, no odd ones.

thanks,
Marc
