I suspect that QDGetCursorData() would be able to save any cursor image,
even if it was a random cursor not set by a Carbon call.

I think Mike's technique would work, and the mouse going invisible would
probably not be noticed much.  But I'm still going to just rip off the
image from HIToolbox.rsrc and hope that NSCursor gets the contextual
menu, maybe in 10.4.
