Also, regarding the sample code, I also found it helpful to look at the raw
list of samples from the Developer DVD:

/Volumes/Dev.DVD\ Jan\ 05/ADC\ Reference\ Library/samplecode

I don't think there is a way to see that raw list of folders from the apple
website. (If there is, it would be useful though, because having the DVD in
all day is a nuisance.)

Without looking at the raw list of samples, I don't know how I would have
stumbled upon:

CarbonInCocoa
CocoaInCarbon

Both of them are listed on this page:

http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/Carbon/index-title.html

You can easily see a list of all samples by connecting to Apple FTP server.

In Finder, select Connect to Server in the Go menu.
and type in: ftp://ftp.apple.com.
Click Connect and the server will show up on your destop.

The samples are in the directory developer/Sample_Code/.
