HIFramework and TView for subclassing system controls

Title: HIFramework and TView for subclassing system controls

Hi all,

I have been using HIFramework for quite some time now and mainly using it for custom controls.  When I have needed to modify/augment behavior of system controls, I have manually added event handlers, etc.  Is there any reason TView could not be used as a wrapper for these system subclassed controls?

I am working down this path currently and so far it seems to work.  In this case of my slider subclass, some issues I have run into include: full keyboard access no longer works.

One other drawback of going this route means I can't set properties of the parent system class in IB because IB does not allow this (in this case orientation or tick marks for example).  Or can I by specifying the appropriate attributes in the HIView Info > Attributes section of the IB Show Info floating window?

Thanks for your input,
Chris
