DOH! Now I remember why I was *forced* to use offscreens!!
It's the only way to get the thing into a drag image!!
I'd like to special case for when we're building the drag image,
obviously, and ONLY use the offscreen then, but there is no callback
that i'm aware of to inform me that "during THIS particular draw
call, the destination is a drag image offscreen, so you have to take
special precautions"
