How to show window without having it come to the front?

Hi,

I am creating a Window while my application is running in the background and I only call ShowWindow and not SelectWindow because I want the window to appear in the background and do not want my app to switch to the foreground. This works ok if the window is there already, but when I am creating it for the first time, it pops to the foreground after calling ShowWindow (without bringing my app to the foreground or making the window active). This is on 10.4.6. Is there away I can get the window to not pop to the front yet when I show the window? Am I doing something wrong, or must I intercept some Carbon event to block this behavior???
