I didn't understand why one would require another list for deletion.

Why should one go through the list and pick and create another list for
deletion? Why not pick and put it on a deletion list (not the special
list) when the document is opened. By this I mean make a decision when
the document is opening about what kind of document it is. This will
make it easy to delete: without going through the list twice.

Another solution could be, going through the list when ever a close-all
is requested and delete all those that can be deleted without putting
them on separate list.
