Re: CMGetProfileDescriptions problem



I'm actually glad the count works this way, as this is much safer. :) I didn't see any mention of the counts in the documentation, but it did strike me as odd that the API would assume how much room is in each string.

    I assume CMGetProfileByAVID() returns no error? Otherwise, the
    "profile" could be garbage and may be the reason the follow-up
    call fails.


Actually the error was that aCount and uCount must be initialized to the array sizes.
In most cases, for example CMGetProfileElement, the API documentation mentions this explicitly. After a night's sleep it dawned upon me that the logic of CMGetProfileDescription was likely to be similar.
