Placards and HIView tracking areas

Hi,

Has anyone noticed that placards don't seem to send kEventControlTrackingAreaEntered and kEventControlTrackingAreaExited events when they have an HIView tracking area set up on them ? I haven't had similar problems with several other controls I've tried so far ( user panes, sliders, pushbuttons, edit text ), just placards.

I set up the tracking area like so :

error = HIViewNewTrackingArea( nativeControl, NULL, 0, &viewTrackingArea );

I would normally investigate this further using TraceEventByName() and such in GDB but since upgrading to Xcode 2.3 that doesn't seem to be working.
