switching UTTIs

How do I get Launch Services to notice that I've changed my UTTIs? I changed my plist so LSItemContentTypes is now "asharp.productname" (instead of "asharp.codename"), but files still seem to be considered "asharp.codename" so my Spotlight importer doesn't notice them.
