Re: making an icon bounce in the dock

I believe the notification manager will do this.

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Carbon/Reference/Notification_Manager/Reference/reference.html

Read the note at the bottom.

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/OSXHIGuidelines/XHIGMOSXEnvironment/chapter_7_section_4.html

Somewhat confirms this.

I would like to occasionally make my application bounce in the dock.
I've poked around, and have found a function called
requestUserAttention(), but it appears to be cocoa. Is this the
function to use, or is there a more carbon-centric way to proceed? If
this is the way to proceed, what (if anything) to I need to
import/add/change to my carbon application in order to shove cocoa
bits into it?
