If so, it might help to tell ATSUI you want to disable grid- fitting -- I think there's an option bit somewhere for this, but I forget the exact details.

The only search results on Apple's site for "gridfitting", "grid- fitting", and "grid fitting" are in sections other than ATSUI (TTRefMan, RoyalT, GXToPostScript).

Try the kATSStyleNoHinting option (I think it's set on the ATSUStyle via the kATSUStyleRenderingOptions attribute -- check the ATSUI docs). Don't know if it'll help, but worth a try.

I think I tried that too :-)
