Hmm... does this mean CreateCustomMenu() and ContextualMenuSelect() won't be available? I have a custom menu that pops up a periodic table and tracks nicely over the element boxes. All Quartz and using "modern" APIs AFAIK. (in fact, it was built at an Apple Kitchen a few years ago, and you were over my shoulder and helped me nail down a few issues... Can we have a hand for Eric, again? :-) ).
I've migrated this code into a otherwise all-Cocoa app since I haven't been able to find a working snippet of AppKit API code that shows how to do custom NON-TEXTUAL menus, and the Carbon code inside Cocoa works (once I do some coordinate system adjusments with the initial mouse down point). Again, this is the only bit of "Carbon UI" code in this app.
So it's not just a question of rewriting working code (don't make me go there... again), AppKit can't do what I need it to do (yet), and this is a shipping app. Could we get "engineering management" to let us keep custom menu functionality, please?
Thanks
