I would like to turn off the toolbar content separator. If I had a metal window I could clear the kWindowMetalNoContentSeparatorAttribute attribute but I don't. How can I turn off the toolbar content separator in a normal window?

I don't think you can. You can turn off the line between the title bar and the toolbar (that's called "unified" look), but AFAIK there's no way to turn off the line between the toolbar and the content area. Only metal windows do that. Though you could try kludging your way around that by using an HIImageView in the window's root view that just overlaps that line ... ?
